Description

Dive into warm, fluffy chocolate chip muffins! This easy recipe guarantees moist, flavorful treats perfect for any time, bringing comfort and joy with every bite.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
  • ⅔ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¾ cup milk
  • ¼ cup vegetable oil
  • 1 large egg, lightly beaten
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a 12-cup muffin pan with paper liners, or grease it well.

2. In a large bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt until no lumps remain.

3. In a separate medium bowl, whisk together the milk, vegetable oil (or melted butter), lightly beaten egg, and vanilla extract until well combined.

4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients. Mix gently with a spoon or spatula until just combined. The batter will be lumpy.

5. Gently fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips until evenly distributed.

6. Divide the batter evenly among the 12 prepared muffin cups. Sprinkle a few additional chocolate chips on top of each.

7. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the tops are golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

8. Let the muffins cool in the muffin pan for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

9. Serve your delightful chocolate chip muffins warm or at room temperature.

Notes

Don’t overmix the batter to achieve tender muffins; a lumpy batter is a good sign.

Using room temperature ingredients helps ensure a more uniform and moist crumb.

Fill muffin liners about two-thirds full for nicely domed tops, or try baking at a higher temperature initially for bigger domes.
